Crow Animation
Stop-motion animation
About the project
# Context and objective
Following the Cheetah project, I wanted to continue exploring stop-motion animation by focusing this time on a flying animal: the crow. The goal of this project was to visually capture and analyze the crow’s flight cycle, using a similar approach that combines traditional techniques with digital tools.
# Research and concept
Following the previous project, I began by defining the graphic style of the animation. I recreated the crow in rounded pixel art, then modeled it in 3D to give it more depth and realism in its movements.
# Design execution
The frames of the animation were created by combining vector drawings made in Illustrator with assembly/animation in After Effects. I made sure to position each frame carefully to respect the natural fluidity of flight while maintaining the stylized aesthetic of stop-motion.
# Finishing touches
The post-production work refined the colorimetry, played with light, and added subtle effects to give more depth to the animation.
